A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FASHION BLOGGER!

Hello everyone,

So many people see only the GLAMOROUS side of being a fashion blogger, but my fellow bloggers know all the hard work that goes into being any kind of a blogger...beauty, fashion, lifestyle or photography. It's a 24/7 kind of job where you're constantly thinking of ways to improve, pitching ideas to various brands, connecting with other bloggers, and regularly creating unique content...it's an ongoing cycle!!! Just like any job out there this one too takes a lot of determination, consistency, work and creativity. Won't you agree? 

I know I've had some tough days because a lot of the times things don't go as planned even though the photos might show otherwise. It isn't always as bright and colorful as you SEE IT! For example, there have been times I've felt very frustrated when what I imagined in my head didn't translate the same way in reality or  I've had to say a hundred "NO's" to companies that didn't understand my brand. It's the "behind the scenes" that makes being a fashion blogger so much more than just a pretty picture. 

That's why today I wanted to share with you what it's like to be a fashion blogger. From my own experience, of course. It may not be the same for other bloggers.

Being a fashion blogger means you're the creative director, stylist, PR agent, brand ambassador, social media manager, model and everything else in ONE!!! It's even more difficult in the beginning if you have no knowledge, connections or any kind of help. That's how I started my blog, five years ago. I learned everything step by step, day by day! If you're thinking of starting a blog, I hope this post gives you some useful pointers. 

One of the most important things you've got to figure out first is your niche. What are you going to blog about? What is a topic that you can talk to your friends about non-stop that gets you passionate every time? What is the one thing everyone comes to you for advice? That is your niche! Mine is fashion! That's why most of my posts are style related...Occasionally I have posts that are about a different topic, like beauty or fitness because I have other interests that I like to share, and it's nice to break it up a little to keep my readers interested and engaged.. Plus, here I've got the freedom to share whatever sparks my heart.💗

From there expect to be at a desk working on your laptop for most of the day. I spend probably more hours than I want to admit on mine...answering e-mails, looking for inspiration, updating all my social media, preparing for an upcoming photo-shoot, checking-off deadlines, staying in the know of upcoming trends and always thinking of what's next.

I know it sounds like a lot, but I've gotten the hang of it. I even take a break in between. I go for a walk outside and once I get back I finish where I left off.  

Photo-shoot day is crunch time! It's your time to play and really see your vision come to live, but this only happens if you've prepared beforehand. My photo-shoot days for the longest time have been Sundays. 

In the beginning it used to take us up to 2 hours to take photos. Now, it takes us around 20 minutes depending on whether or not I'm shooting one or a couple of looks. Make it FUN and feed off your photographer! With time it will start feeling more natural and your creativity will flow and grow. Look for inspiration from magazines, Instagram, Pinterest, other blogs...you'll find it everywhere. Where do you draw most of your inspiration from?     

Once you've got lots of photos to choose from, that's when the work starts all over again. You've got to choose the best ones, edit them ( I use PicsArt), create a theme, have a topic of what you want to write about, sit down and write it, have a set date you want to post it. When it's out in the open for everyone to see, get your marketing on. Start sharing it! 

Being a blogger has everything! You've got the creative and business side. Finding a balance to juggle them both at the same time is key. Also, you need at least one person who believes in you...you can share your ups and downs with them. As well as a good photographer who is ready to drive to that planned location, to carry equipment, to pitch in ideas, and to help get the best out of you, one photo at a time.

WORK FROM HOME: WHAT TO WEAR!

Hello everyone,

Since the pandemic our daily routines have changed in so many ways. A lot of things like work, exercise, ordering food are now done from home. There's no better time to be greatly thankful for the internet than now since we're so dependent on it to feel somewhat normal and productive. Long gone are the days when we felt like having a phone was a burden as we had to keep up with everything from e-mails to endless scrolls through Instagram. Currently, every minute spend online feels like a breath of fresh air! 

And of course, this is no time to be lazy or to start dreading each day. Instead, we can make our own daily plans and fill in every day with things that must-be accomplished like work stuff . In between we can add fun activities to help us stay motivated, inspired. What do you think? 

I know a lot of us have made our own at-home work space where we spend time working...taking video calls, answering messages and tackling any important responsibilities. Well, since we're all in the same boat, I thought it's only right to share with you an outfit which can bring-out the BOSS in you. A look that's comfortable, yet very professional! 

With a dab of natural make-up combined with this outfit, you'll be more than READY for any video conference call. Let's slay working from home!!!                  

Working from the comfort of your own home can be a BIG plus in that you don't have to wear a pencil skirt, trousers or high pumps. Save these pieces for the office once things get back to normal. As for now, you can take advantage of wearing more comfortable items, which can still put you in the mood of getting work done. How do you like the sound of that?...literally the best of both worlds!

So you're heading to a virtual meeting on your laptop, what should you wear?

Most definitely you can throw on a nice pair of comfy leggings, stretchy - a great alternative for the hours you'll be spending in front of the screen. It's likely that no one will see your legs as you'll be sitting, so don't go wearing jeans or anything else too formal. Also, you can add your most fuzzy slippers. Don't you just wish you could go to work like that even after the pandemic passes?

You'll be seen from the waist up, so here you can let your effort show. Throw on a nice clean tee and a fitted blazer over it. You'll look presentable, someone who is ready to give it their all! Also, you can add one piece of jewelry like a tiny necklace or hoop earrings instead. Don't forget to style your hair, apply a more natural make-up. I would add a bit of lip-gloss on the lips and let's get to work!!!

7 WAYS TO WEAR SNEAKERS!

Hello everyone,

In today's post "let your sneakers be your wings," I show you that comfort can be just as fashionable. More so, if your feet are looking for a break (mine totally are), leave your heels to the side. 👠 

This week we'll make comfort and style our priority! Not only can you run to catch the train in your sneakers, but you can feel wonderful after a long day on your feet. I can't say the same about heels even though they're dear to my heart. More than a few times, I recall, I had to run in my heels and let me tell you... it wasn't a pretty sight. Also, when taking them off, more often than not, I've got blisters all over. Am I lucky or what?😂     


What I love the MOST is that as the seasons roll on by, adding an awesome pair of sneakers has become so trendy. I constantly notice it. I never thought that sneakers could be fashionable and bring flavor and character to what I'm wearing. I've been playing sports throughout my whole childhood and adolescent life. Sneakers were shoes that helped me run faster and made me feel comfortable. I never matched them to my gym shorts and t-shirt. I just threw on the first pair I spotted. Plus, I was a total tomboy. I didn't even know about mascara until I went to my senior prom. Yes, I am dead serious.

Then, I grew up. Slowly, I found my feminine side. Actually, when I think about it, starting this blog really inspired me to explore fashion and beauty. I had no idea what I was doing at first. Looking back at my first posts, you can see how I was still trying to figure out my style, what fashion meant to me and what role it played in my life. Today, I feel more in tune with myself and the woman I've become. 

To many, fashion could be a very superficial subject, but from experience, I can say that it is a form of art, a form of self-expression. It has hidden powers. It can make you feel strong and confident, fun and flirtatious, cute and sweet. And when you think about it, you are all of these things. It's not "a costume" that you put on to hide who you are. You actually are all of these things. The fun part is that you get to bring out some aspects of your personality more than others whenever you choose. You are in control. 

Anyways, we were talking about sneakers...I'm totally in love with this trend. Surprisingly, sneakers go with everything, not just my high school basketball uniform. They are playful and casual, comfortable and sassy. One thing is for sure. I never thought I would be wearing sneakers with a skirt.

I think that one advice I would give to you guys is to try out the fashionable trends that spark your interest. Don't be afraid just because you don't think you can pull it off. How would you know anyway? Try it. Give it a chance. See how you feel. And most importantly, love yourself. :)

RED LOVE!

Hello everyone,

Guess what? It didn't take long before getting bit by the RED fashion bug again. I really tried staying away from posting any red outfits on here because last year there were plenty - from tips on ways to wear the MOST romantic color ever to matching my red attire with the stunning Red Rocks we're so fortunate to have here in Las Vegas.💓 

Plus, many of you have said that this is "my color" and I should wear it more often, so I'm more than happy to follow your orders.😉 Good thing there's never a dull moment with this fiery pigment as I always seem to find a way to create various looks. Some edgy, others chic! And overall most of them romantic because red just has that power. I think mainly for this reason, I enjoy monochromatic red outfits. Fully stepping into this hue, which often, a lot of people shy away from. All I'm saying is...don't be SHY!😘

You know what's interesting? On International Women's Day, I went to a girls party and noticed so many of us wore red including me (without planning it). It got me thinking how majestic this color is - completely lets you embrace your feminine side and feels like you've stepped into a "power suit". 

      
With spring peaking around the corner, I simply reach for pieces that easily help me transition into the new season. This idea brought me to my knit skirt... a must-have wardrobe staple. It can be styled with a cute graphic tee or a cozy sweater. All it takes is you knowing the forecast in your city. It will save you the time of debating what to wear.  

Most often I go straight for my heels, but with this red look I wanted to make it more street-style with some sneakers and cool accessories. I like these stylish, yet effortless vibes! Something you can accomplish with a lot of your wardrobe staples by adding a comfy pair of sneakers; vans, adidas... really any brand you love!

SPRING VACATION: WHAT TO PACK!

Hello everyone,

Set the alarm to "snooze vacay" because it's time for a VACATION!!! Spring is nearing, so is our desire to go off somewhere tropical and enjoy a few days, even weeks of sunshine. Straight away I think of Mexico because it has been my favorite destination from the minute I visited Cabo San Lucas a few years ago. I can't describe it in words...so MAGICAL, plus there, I feel at home. What's your soul-free top travel destination?

I've got a checklist for you and a few...ok, scratch that, a LOT of cute clothing items you should bring with you to make your vacation extra colorful and adventurous. Sounds good?🌴

It really depends on how many days you'll be vacationing for, but this here is what I would bring to, let's say, a 5 to 7 days trip. If I'm going somewhere for the weekend for 3 days, I would cut this list into half and only bring one item of each and even leave a few behind. There's no need to carry much if you're doing spring break on the fast-lane!

When planning a beach vacation most likely you'll be spending your time at the beach, so sunscreen, swimsuits, beach towel, sunglasses and a beach cover-up are the first things you'll probably pack right away. However, it's good to have a few evening items for dinner like a more elegant romper, a midi dress or a cute flirty two-piece set in which you can show off your tan. I would also add one denim jacket for these nights in case it gets chilly because it would literally go with anything you decide to wear.  

When it comes to shoes, here's what I suggest. You'll need flip-flops for the beach, of course. One pair of black wedges for dinner and a pair of sneakers in case you're planning to have a whole day of exploring or maybe hitting up a cool hike trail. You might be tempted to want to pack your whole shoe collection, since we girls believe we need a different pair of shoes for every occasion, but trust me these three pairs are completely enough.

PALM SPRINGS FUCHSIA!

Hello everyone,

Anyone who knows me well will know that I love dressing up, even on days when there's no holiday or party to attend. Just because it's a fiesta in my head! 🥳 hahaha! And that's the purpose for this post. I always have fun with what I wear on days you wouldn't expect, like hump day. It gives me a boost to await the weekend with a salsa step forward and back. And you know what? This outfit just makes me want to dance non-stop! Plus, the photos turned out as if I'm looking at a pink summery Palm Springs, which is ohhhh so DREAMY! 💜 Hopefully you feel it too!!!    


What else I feel is spring, the sunshine beaming down on me while my metallic top catches the light. It's pure happiness! Also, I smile wide as I have combined two favorite trends of mine into one...puff sleeves and shiny metallic! What trends are you currently into?

            
If you're looking for a special occasion to wear something more glam, you might miss your chance, so start dressing however your heart desires NOW. The power is in this current moment.😉 

Looking at the palm tree, can't you agree it's one beautiful moment?! A pink paradise, which immediately makes you want to book your spring vacation. If you're guilty of scrolling through vacation destinations right about now...we can be guilty together! hahahaha

As long as there's sunshine and palm trees...which luckily happens often in Vegas, there will be colors in my choice of clothing and accessories. FASHION ON A BUDGET: WAYS TO LOOK EXPENSIVE!

Hello everyone,

Believe me when I say, being covered in high end brands like Valentino, Givenchy or Burberry isn't the only way to look expensive. In fact, there are ways to stay on budget, but still look wonderful when you dress. I stick to these tricks every time as they have never failed me!!! Wanna know what they are? Stick around to find out and be sure to share your thoughts as we go.


I'm one who doesn't like a big brand logo being slapped front and center on my clothing. That's just my personal preference since I mostly like wearing clean and nicely cut pieces with noticeable details. It feels natural and appeals to my sense of style. Plus, it proves that fashion on a budget is totally possible! You can even create your dream closet without spending thousands of dollars on items, which you might regret later. Sign me up...I LOVE the sound of that!

Add a BOLD Lipstick

I'm someone who never leaves the house without a lipstick on, only if I'm going out for a run or a workout. It's part of my lips DNA...hahaha! Without color I feel as something isn't right about my look. A bright red lipstick definitely has the power to make me feel put together, classy and expensive even if the lipstick is from Target and it only costs 8 dollars. Can you relate? 

This is one of the make-up products, I always carry in my bag as it never fails to make me feel like a woman. Yep, "Man! I feel like a woman" by Shania Twain is just playing in my head right about now...hahaha!

So can you guess how many colors of lipsticks I have? Literally, every color under the rainbow. I own a whole separate box only for lipsticks. It makes me smile, every time I try to decide which one to apply. 💋

Style your HAIR  

It can take anywhere from five to ten minutes, but styling your hair makes a HUGE difference. I always enjoy brushing my hair first, then styling it by the look/feel I want to achieve from my overall outfit. For example, if I want Spanish vibes added to my flowy, colorful pieces, I tie my hair slick. If I'm going after boho vibes, I usually do a half-up style and add a few of my seashell pins, which are actually DIY. How cute are they for the festival season coming up?  

Since the hair is our power crown, you'll definitely want to take care of it. Keep it healthy/fresh and just as beautiful as the rest. It can easily make you look expensive without even going to an expensive hairdresser. I color my own hair, my sister has become a pro at cutting it and I style it myself. See... it's that simple!!!

Take care of your Belongings

No matter the amount of money you spend on shoes, jewelry, clothing...you always want to keep it in TOP shape, so you can wear everything for many years to come. How nice is that feeling, when five years later you can still wear your favorite pumps as if they're brand new without a single scratch? Best feeling ever right? Or the fact that there is no sign of any stains on your white jeans after wearing them for so long. These kind of details make you look more than expensive. They make you look classy and elegant!

Also, having details like tiny pearls on the collar of your shirt or a cool zipper pocket on your skirt, personally make me very EXCITED. They help express your unique personality! The importance is in the little things just like in life.  

                 
Lean on your Investment pieces 

There are a few wardrobe essential pieces which will always go with anything in your closet. They're the starting point to building the stepping grounds for your own style. These items include the leather jacket, the white shirt, the pencil skirt, the denim jeans, the black pants, the blazer...If you invest in these classics, you'll be able to mix and match them to the rest of your clothing. Plus, you'll end up wearing them more than a few times. Also, I can't begin to explain how one simple staple from this list can make you look much more expensive without having to spend all of your money. 

My classic pieces I have bought from H&M and Forever 21, either on sale or at decent prices, are the pieces to reach for when I want to look more elegant, expensive or perhaps to ace that job interview.

Nails on Fleek

My final suggestion to looking expensive is making sure to take care of your nails. Have freshly painted fingers at all times, no chipping allowed. I always do my nails before every photoshoot (every week) and just enjoy having beautiful designs or different colors. This small hack has been part of my routine for so long that it would be weird if I suddenly stopped doing it. 

You can imagine how excited I get when I buy new nail polishes. It feels like I have bought my first very own house! As you know, a true girl boss, always has her claws on fleek.😁 She means business!
