MAY FAVORITES 2019!

Hello everyone,

This month was one of a kind where lots happened, all wonderful things that I know I'll remember forever. The BEST kind of month... busy, beautiful and memorable. That's why I can't miss this chance to sum it up and have a look back at everything I loved in the month of May. What's one thing you enjoyed during this month?

Most of it turned out to be life events, but I couldn't help adding a few products. As for fashion, I'll be back at it full force in the next post. Here we go!

1. Event: European Music Fest

The very beginning of May started with a three day weekend with lots and lots of music. I couldn't wait!!! Even more exciting was the fact that artists came from different European countries to perform, hence the name "European Fest". My favorite part was when the legendary members from "No Mercy" and "La Bouche" took the stage. Literally, my childhood dreams came true!!! It was like I traveled back in time when my mom would play them on the TV, except,  now they were right in front of me.

I couldn't have pictured a better way to kick off this month. For me, live music is always the way to go; makes me super happy!

2. Make-Up Remover: Butter Cleanser

Returning back to a well know brand, which I use often and love; Drunk Elephant! This time I'm sharing their melting butter product that easily removes any traces of make-up. It's so worthy and within minutes any dirt is gone from the face. I couldn't recommend it more to you. It makes getting rid of your make-up every night super easy.

This is a second pot I have gone through and thought it was time to share it with you as an occurring all time favorite product. It makes me feel like I can try any make-up look I want because later I know it will easily be removed; I won't be left at the bathroom for hours trying to scrub it off.

3. Read: "The Bingo Theory" by Mimi Ikonn

I briefly mentioned this book while I was still reading it. It took me only two days to finish because it was that good. I won't go into much detail about it since I want you to read it for yourself and find out what it means to you. Basically it made me see why people are the way they are, how each one of us has a feminine and masculine energy inside  and ways to balance these energies in order to feel complete and fully happy with your life. It leads you to becoming a BINGO yourself, which means you've got the love and power within you to attract the life and people that you want.

I really enjoyed this book and if you have any suggestions of books similar to this one that I should check out, please let me know. If creating harmony in your relationships with others and mostly yourself is something that interests you, I highly recommend reading this one.

4. Activity: Archery Shooting

Like that one time we went gun shooting, this month it was time to try the bow and arrow. Super fun activity to do on a weekend, takes surprising amount of concentration and precision...feels so weird the first few times, your arrow might fly off some place you never imagined LOL!

I enjoy trying new activities like this one because I have always loved sports and doing anything that moves the body, makes me feel alive. So, if you're up for trying new activities (one thing I set out to do more of this year) then you must try archery shooting. It's something fun to do with your besties!

5. Special: Wedding 5-18-2019

Most special of them all was attending my best friend's wedding. I can't even believe it was a week and a half ago. The kind of wedding I would want to relive again and again because there's nothing like seeing two people in love ready to create a life together. Can you tell I'm a romantic deep at heart?!

I loved every part of this weekend from traveling from Vegas to Chicago especially for the wedding, to picking out my dress, being at the church ceremony and later hitting up the dance floor with my bestie from Junior High School who is now a bride. That's what I call "magical moments of May!!!

What's something wonderful that happened to you during this month or share a favorite that has impressed you?

WEEKEND IN CHICAGO!

Hello everyone,

Fourteen years later and I'm back in the city I once used to call home... CHICAGO! The kind of city which quickly made me believe in better and bigger things. That's why it will always have a special place in my heart!!!
💗 Even more special was the fact that my sister and I got to attend my best friend's wedding (we went to junior high school together). Truly, the most FUN wedding I've ever been to. Abby, if you're reading this... lots of besos y abrazos from us and we can't wait to see you in Vegas in the near future!!!

This weekend trip couldn't have gone any better! There I was, able to visit new monuments like the Millennium Park, while remembering old places, smells and streets. It felt both so different and in many ways the same as before. One of the first things that shocked me was how green it was and that people actually walked around their suburb. This is something you would rarely see in Las Vegas.

So, with the three days we had, we walked hours and hours through Downtown sightseeing...in the wind, rain and sunshine (you can feel almost all four seasons in one day, only in Chicago).😜

If you've never been to Chicago and want a few suggestions of places to visit/see on your first visit to the windy city, here are my recommendations:

1. The Skydeck-Willies Tower: View the whole city from 103 floor. Breathtaking scenery you won't ever forget with panoramic views left and right, up and down. Admission is $25 per person. We got to do this on the last day, a few hours before heading to the airport to catch our plane back home.

2. The Cloud Gate- Mostly known as The Bean: The city is known for this popular sculpture where it's the number one tourist attraction. Expect lots of people and fun mirror reflections for cool shots. With no sleep, that's where we headed right away... the minute we landed. Also, while there, be sure to try the Chicago style hot-dogs. So good! I still remember the way they tasted!

3. The Chicago Riverwalk: You can walk the trail of this river and have a good time to really enjoy the sky high buildings and the busy streets of Chi-Town. You can even book a boat tour ( something we are planning for next time we visit).

4. Crown Fountain: Only a walking distance away from The Bean is this mosaic face instillation of two 50 foot tall LED screens that show different people blow water from their mouths making a fountain. They represent the various cultures that make up this city.

5. Navy Pier: A must-see landmark of  Lake Michigan. When I lived in this city that's where I experienced the most magical fireworks for the celebration of July 4th. So big and vibrant, my kid eyes were ready to burst from happiness.

6. Lake Shore Dr: The coast of Chicago is something else. If you follow Lake Shore Dr., you will experience beautiful views of the Belmont Harbor, the Chicago Yacht Club, Lincoln Park where you can visit the Lincoln Zoo for free, and so much more. There are parks, beaches, ponds, lagoons, harbors. It reminds me of the Pacific Hwy in California. One street that takes you all along the coast. You can bike, run, or walk on Lake Shore Dr and enjoy some spectacular views and adventures.

What do you think... isn't Chicago an incredible city? I love it and can't wait to visit again, hopefully a lot sooner than fourteen years. haha!

Now I've got a new destination in mind...got to start planning it, which is why it's time to end this post. Talk to you soon!

WAYS TO FALL IN LOVE WITH SUMMER!

Hello everyone,

If you tear up from the thought of a hot summer and wish it could be winter forever, this post is especially for you. Naturally, I'm a BIG lover of summer, but I know a few of you feel the opposite, which is why I decided to hopefully lift up your spirits and raise the temperature. Let's forget about the cold and see all the amazing things summer has to offer!!!

This post was recently requested by one of you, so here it is!

As someone who lives in the desert, I find summer to be the most FUN for all the activities you can enjoy with friends and let's not forget about all the margaritas...It's the best time to relax and make the long summer days last!

One last thing... are you ready to fall in love with summer?

1. Book a Trip

When I think of the hottest season of the year, the first thing that comes to mind is taking a trip to a even more tropical place with a beach in sight. However, you can always book a winter vacation somewhere cold because when it's summer in some places, it's winter in others. That's the perfect solution for each one of us...you get to choose the climate you want to enjoy.

Also, this is the perfect time to put work aside, get together with your friends and plan something together. I know each one of us is in need of being more present, enjoying every minute and focusing on the things that really matter. Think about it...when will you ever get the chance to live again? Here and now is the time to make it count!

I'm taking my own advice on this one and I am going to book a few trips with my sister. Places we both can't wait to see! And the fun part is, I'll take you with me with lots of photos to show my experiences.

2. Go to a Festival

Festivals and great music always pump me up for summer. There is not a dull moment when the music is playing and all you want to do is dance the night away. These moments/nights have become the highlight of my summers!

Take your friends, go to a festival near you and let your inner child play! You'll end up wanting to do it over and over again by visiting as many festivals as you can throughout the whole summer. This sure will make you a summer lover!

Summers are the most fun especially when it involves going to seeing live music, whether that's festivals or just a concert by an artist you love. I have been to so many, I have literally lost count over the years. You know there is something special about live music and seeing your favorite artist perform?! In fact, the Bad Bunny Concert tour is starting next month so, if you're a fan, now could be the perfect time to get out and see some live music!

3. Shopping Spree

I love a great visit to the mall especially when shopping for summer clothing - dresses, rompers, skirts, crop tops... and more. It'll put you in the mood for summer even more so if you buy colorful apparel like the awesome neon brights that are back in style. Make Your Statement!

I think treating each season with a shopping haul is a great start to get you excited for that particular season no matter how you feel about it. For example, even if I don't like winter as much, buying something new and cozy puts me in the mindset that winter can be lovely in layers, by the fire drinking coffee. A simple action like this leads to a big reaction!

4. Garden House Party

Wanna be in love with summer all summer long? Turn your backyard into an enchanting forest with twinkling lights, cozy pillows, a table set for your closest friends to invite and again music/laughter filling the air!

This is the time to have a barbecue with delicious food and good people to share it with. Being outside in the night stars is one of the best things summer has to offer. Simply so magical!!!

Did these ideas get you a bit more excited for summer? I really hope so... crossing my fingers this post made you forget about your love for the cold winter! Haha

MY TOP 5 FAVORITE PLACES I'VE VISITED!

Hello everyone,

With a special trip only a week away, I've got the travel bug and am feeling nostalgic of the places I've visited so far. That's why today I'm going to look back at some of my favorites! My top five choices, which I wouldn't mind revisiting again and again because they left their mark in my heart like a passport stamp. Whenever I think back to these trips, I'm always fulfilled with the great memories that happened along the way. Ohhh and can't forget the many funny stories, which to this day make me smile.

1.

Este es mi lugar FAVORITO! Mexico always feels like home; the friendly people, the lively atmosphere, the rich food, the upbeat music... TODO! For these reasons Cancun goes straight to the top of my list. When I'm there, I never think about or want to return back to Vegas! hahaha

I live it up, make each day count and relax to the max! Truly my dream destination for the longest time until I visited it last year. And now I wold be eager to pack my bags and head to Cancun once again.

If you're thinking of going to Cancun, be sure to spare one day to visit Chichen Itza and swim in at least one of the cenotes (natural underground waters). It's a life-changing, breathtaking experience you wouldn't want to miss!!!

Want to wake-up to Caribbean ocean views and fancy resort accommodations? Book your Cancun vacation at the Mayan inspired nizuc resort and spa. So gorgeous inside and out, it's complete paradise. I know this is where I want to stay next time I visit Cancun again.
2.

The Grand Canyon is one that left me in awe, the minute I saw it with my own eyes.

I've been there two times already and without a doubt would go for a third round if I get the chance. It's GRAND, makes you feel extra small and leaves you wondering how something this majestic can exist. It's a living proof of the beauty of our Earth, which we should always appreciate and cherish!!!

I loved the way the colors of the rocks kept changing as the day began with a sunrise and later ended with a sunset. It really is worth spending a whole day, so you can experience the magic in all its forms from the fresh air to the views each step of the way. I visited in November and March, both chilly days... I felt the winter unlike the one in Las Vegas.

3.

This city is "home, sweet home" for me because I used to live there before moving to Las Vegas. I lived there for four years; during my junior high school days. Not only that, but Chicago is special to me because it made me believe in having bigger and better dreams. It allowed me to see the world through a different light, which is why I will be forever grateful for being able to call it my home.

Downtown Chicago is where I used to love walking around as a kid with my family. I was fascinated by the tall skyscrapers and the spotless glass windows. That was way back in 2002, but these sights and memories are still with me!

4.

My favorite place for sand, beach, and only a short drive away is Laguna Beach. The minute I stepped on this beach, I connected with this place and the chill California lifestyle. I loved every part of it! I can totally see myself living there one day! How nice would it be to wake-up each morning to a view like this and be able to watch the amazing sunsets every night?! Dreamy, right?

I especially love bike-riding along the Pacific coast, enjoying the light summer breeze and seeing everyone out and about having a blast by the beach and doing different activities that don't involve being on your phone.

5.

Lastly, this national park always brings me back to a full day of hiking, connecting with nature and even animals (I saw a herd of deer), a blissful waterfall along the way and a tiny pond at the end of the hike. I mean, what else could you really want? It was the kind of trip that made me feel energized and a bit tired (in a good way), having explored so much.

I know there is lots more parks like these in Utah that I'm dying to visit, all unique and beautiful in their own way.

What's your top favorite place you've been to? One that always brings a smile on your face, just thinking about it? I would love to know!!!

TROPICAL PLAID VIBRAS!

Hello everyone,

Today is all about VIBRAS! We're getting closer to summer, we're starting to think of tropical destinations, we're adding lots of colors...I'm so ready for these good vibes I just mentioned and more. How are you feeling?

It's no secret that I get summer excited months in advance because I love the heat and the fun tropical styles I get to play with. Honestly, it's never boring here in the desert or at least that's how I like to make it for myself. You've got to enjoy life and make the best out of it!!! What's one way you make each day count?
I have to share with you, I just started reading a new book " The Bingo Theory" by Mimi Ikonn, which is something I look forward to reading ( I started it yesterday and am for sure finishing it today). It's one way I like to make my days count because I enjoy learning about relationships... the ins and outs of communicating, learning about energies and everything that is bigger than us. It's a way for me to dive deep into a different world!

Back to the GOOD vibras of my look!

I'm going nuts with VIBRAS this and vibras that because the whole look was inspired by my visor hat. Even more cool is the fact that it's from the Guess collaboration with J Balvin ( I love him and his vibras... LOL!) The whole collection is awesome... so vibrant and totally resembles the cool street style only J Balvin knows how to rock.

From there, I wanted to take it into the athletic route with a nice comfy asymmetric plaid dress paired with sneakers, of course. Thankfully, I had this vision of a look because I couldn't do heels from the blisters I've created from salsa dancing haha! I can't help it... I LOVE my salsa!

To make the outfit extra chic and pop, clearly I added my trendy transparent bag...See what I did there... clearly and transparent, in one sentence?Ohh jokes!

And I just tied my bomber jacket for the kind of layering I like to do in the spring. It's there for style, but also, if by chance, it gets chilly at night. Even if that happens, sometimes I catch myself not wanting to ruin my outfit haha!
