HOW TO STYLE: RECTANGLE-SHAPED BODY FOR SPRING!

Hello everyone,

I hope you have enjoyed this series so far because today we're moving on to the next body shape which is the rectangle. Before I talk about this particular shape, I wanted to mention (if you're new) that I have already covered the most common body shapes, the pear and the apple!

These links will lead you to the desired shape!

Now's the time to see under which body shape you fit. Let me know in the comments what shape or fruit you are?

If you're a rectangle, when looking in the mirror you'll notice right away that your hips, waist and the width of your shoulders all look the same. These are the characteristics of most models these days, so being a rectangle means you're one of them.
Be extra grateful because this shape is really easy to dress. Everything and anything will look lovely on you. All shapes are beautiful but they all have little things that can make it hard to know what to wear, and for the rectangle shaped model the downfall is that there are no curves whatsoever. This may leave you feeling less feminine, wishing you had more curves, but with everything available to you, you can make it work in a way that will have you feeling sexy, confident and most importantly YOU

Here is what a perfect spring outfit for all rectangles looks like! For sure, this is one of many (million) looks that you can rock :)

Top: With a flat bust, all a rectangle shaped woman wants is to fill like a woman. A fuller and more feminine image can be achieved through several ways
One is the importance of a bra that's not only comfortable, but also adds a bit of volume like the push-up bra, the padded bra and the demi bra, which all contribute in helping your chest look fuller. They're also made to show a bit cleavage, so when wearing one, the top half of your breast will be a bit more exposed, making you look natural and fuller.
I'm sure you've already thought of the second way that will help you feel more sexy and look fuller. The answer is picking tops with low cut necklines like the practical v-neck, the halter, sweetheart and scoop neckline. As well to this list you can add tops with different kind of collars such as the shawl, sash-bow and the most know ruffle collar because they're most definitely girlie and draw the attention upward.
Just try it all and see how you look and feel. If one piece makes you look and feel more like a boy (too boring and no shape), leave it, it's not worth it. Go with the one that will make you look and feel like a million bucks. You might have to try several options, but in the end it'll be all worth it.
Something else that you have to remember is to pick tops that fit you well, ones that hug the body, not look and feel baggy on you. Basically avoid shapeless clothing!
For my model, as you see, I've chosen a scoop neck peplum top with a tiny belt to highlight the waist. This top is ideal because the belt gives definition to the waist, making the body look more proportional. The flare of the top, gives volume toward the hip area making you look naturally more curvy

Bottom: Just like your upper body, your bottom lacks curves when you're a rectangular shape, so there are a few tricks I would like to share with you
1. If you go for denim jeans, shorts or skirts, make sure they have pockets on the back (most do) because they will help your flat bottom look nice and curvy.
2. Ruffled, sequin, or patterned skirts consider your new best friends because they'll transform you completely in a good way, just don't wear a ruffled skirt with a ruffled top because that will be too much. You can mix and match some great combinations!
3. Like the pears and apples, A-line skirt or dresses will always look good on. (They're universal because they look great on all body shapes!

Since the top is getting all the attention, on the bottom I put my model in a simple skirt that shows off her long and lean legs. You can do it the other way around, more detailed and busy bottom with a nice simple top. Either way, it will all look lovely on you.

I think I've covered all the important parts.
